Job Sum­ma­ry: Cook/Utility reports direct­ly to the school’s Account Man­ager. Per­forms rou­tine duties asso­ci­at­ed with the prepa­ra­tion, pre­sen­ta­tion, and friend­ly deliv­ery of food to stu­dents, fac­ul­ty, and vis­i­tors of the school food­ser­vice oper­a­tion. Posi­tion requires a pos­i­tive atti­tude and excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills. Must be able to lift and car­ry mod­er­ate weight. Ide­al can­di­date will be com­fort­able with both front-of-house and back-of-house respon­si­bil­i­ties.

Essen­tial Duties and Respon­si­bil­i­ties

  • Light food and drink prepa­ra­tion
  • Main­tain clean­li­ness in every area of cafe­te­ria and work­space
  • Prop­er­ly oper­ate kitchen equip­ment (e.g. dish­wash­er, con­vec­tion oven)
  • Deliv­er qual­i­ty guest ser­vice at all times
  • Read and com­pre­hend menus, recipes, and task descrip­tions
  • Uti­lize basic math skills to make unit con­ver­sions and adjust quan­ti­ties
  • Main­tain com­po­sure under pres­sure and in a fast-paced envi­ron­ment
  • Coor­di­nate mul­ti­ple activ­i­ties with atten­tion to detail
  • Present a pos­i­tive atti­tude toward your job
  • Demon­strate under­stand­ing of com­pa­ny phi­los­o­phy
  • Any oth­er duties as assigned by man­age­ment
